Abstract :
Orchidaceae is the Latin name for orchids that have various types of flowers so that they have different characteristics from one type to another. Almost all regions in Indonesia have their own types of orchid plants according to the geographical character of the area. To distinguish the type of orchid plant, it can be seen from the condition of the roots, stems, leaf shape, floral motifs, and crown shape. The types of orchids that are in great demand and bred in Indonesia are Vanda, Dendrobium, Cattleya, Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum and Spaglothis. This type of orchid also has various species to crosses of various species. However, there are still many people who cultivate this plant, but lack of knowledge so that the results obtained from orchids cannot grow optimally. The methodology used in this application software engineering is the development of information systems. This study aims to help identify types of orchids by creating an Encyclopedia as an intermediary between an expert and orchid farmers, students, and people who want to know about orchids. In this study the author uses the Decision Tree C4.5 method.
