Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of maintenance scale, harvest age, body weight, FCR and mortality on the performance index of broiler chicken farming in Jember Regency. The research method used was a survey method with 30 respondents of broiler breeders in Jember Regency. The research data were processed using multiple linear regression analysis and the following equations were Y = 1.322 + 0.535X1 + 0.390X2 + 0.204X3 + 0.239X4 - 405X5. This equation means that the performance index is influenced by X1 (maintenance scale) of 0.535, X2 (harvesting age) of 0.390, X3 (mortality) of 0.204, X4 (body weight) of 0.239, X5 (FCR) of -0.405. From this study it can be concluded that the factors that influence the performance index are the scale of maintenance, age at harvest, mortality, body weight and FCR. The result of the calculation of the coefficient of determination is 78.3% of the performance index is influenced by factors in the study and 21.7% is influenced by other factors outside of this study.
