Abstract :
The prevalence of obesity tends to increas every year. The increase of obesity is caused by multifactorial factors, one of which is consumption patterns. It is well-known that the consumption of sweetened drinks with modified falvorsand buble are currently popular and beinga favorite among College Students. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between consumption and types of popular sweetened beverages with the incidence of obesity in college students. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional design and a snowball sampling technique. The number of samples are 412 students with criteria of age > 18 years, BMI 18.5-25 (normal) and > 27 (obese) and has the will to be a subject. Analysis of the data used is the Spearman Rho correlation test. The result og this study indicates that there is no correlation of both the consumption of sweetened drinks and the sweetened drinks itself with the incident of obesity.
