Abstract :
This study aimed to determine the effect of the interaction between heat stress and vitamin C administration on the morphometric of Gaok chicken. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The material used was 32 Gaok chickens (16 males and 16 females). This study used a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with a 2x2 pattern with 4 replications. The first factor is heat stress (S0 = no heat stress, S1 = heat stress) and the second factor is Vitamin C (V0 = no vitamin C, V1 = 500 ppm vitamin C). The morphometric parameters observed included quantitative characteristics such as neck length, back length, beak length, shank length, leg length, thigh length, chest circumference, and body weight. The data from the quantitative test were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (Anova) and if there were differences, they were further tested using the Least Significant Difference (BNT) test at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of heat stress treatment and the administration of vitamin C had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the increase in the length of the male Gaok chicken thigh. The increase in the length of the male Gaok rooster's legs, and the increase in the back length of the female Gaok rooster. While the heat stress factor can significantly affect the increase in the length of the neck of the chicken, the length of the back, the length of the thighs and legs of the male Gaok chicken, as well as the increase in the shank and the length of the thigh of the female Gaok chicken.
