Abstract :
Laboratory management administration at the Fishery Expertise Program at SMK Negeri Kalibaru at first did not fully use information technology and still used manual administration even though it was already using a computer. Since 2021, the Laboratory Management Information System (SILAB) has been used, so it is necessary to understand the effectiveness of using the Information System in supporting administration and academics activities. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of information systems in laboratory management and the factors that cause the level of effectiveness of its use. The methodologies used are 1) Data collection techniques using Incidental Sampling techniques, 2) Data Analysis Techniques using instrument tests, effectiveness tests and mapping techniques - Decision Explorer. The results showed that: a) The effectiveness of SILAB at SMK Negeri Kalibaru Banyuwangi is in the category and high level of effectiveness, b) Evaluation strategies in increasing the effectiveness of the use of laboratory information systems (SILAB) used in SMK Negeri Kalibaru Banyuwangi, has (1). Ease of use; (2). User expectations can be achieved as expected (3). Reduce the diversity and uncertainty of information for users; (4). Quick response; (5). Assist users in the right decision-making process.
