Abstract :
Corn is one of the most important cereal crops in the world. In Indonesia, the needs of corn are increasing along with the industrial growth. However, using tradisional cultivation technique causing the decreased of corn production. So, it is necessary to know about corn harvesting and storing. The purpose of this research is to determine harvesting age and storage time of corn seeds. This research was conducted from October 29th to December 29th 2019 on the land which owned by PT. Syngenta Seed Indonesia partners, Kabat Village, Rogojampi Banyuwangi. This reasearch used Complete Randomized Design (RAL) factorial with 2 treatments. First treatment is harvesting age (P) which consists 4 levels, 105 days after planting (P1), 110 days after plating (P2), 115 days after planting (P3) and 120 days after planting (P4). Second treatment is storage time (S) which consists 4 levels, without storage (S1), 1 month (S2), 2 months (S3) and 3 months (S4). The result showed harvesting age gives a very significant effect to germination rate and seedling growth rate. Storage time gives a very significant effect to seedling growth uniformity. The interaction of harvesting time and storage time give a very significant effect to germination rate and seedling growth rate. Keyword : Corn, harvesting age, storage time
