Abstract :
This is the report of final project entitled ?Subtitling Video as Teaching Media of English for Plantation Crop Production Students in Politeknik Negeri Jember?. This project was made because the lecturer of Basic and Intermediate English used this video as a teaching media in plantation crop production program. Besides, the students had difficulties in comprehending the content of the video. by using a subtitling video; the students could know detailed information video about ?How to planting Coffee?. In making this final project, the writer made the subtitling video for accomplish this final project. This subtitle was provided of three parts; opening, content and closing. In the opening, the native speaker explained the information about the different types of coffee; there are Arabica and Robusta which growth in highland and low altitude areas. In the next part, the speaker explained process of coffee production beginning with land preparation until record keeping. During the finishing, the writer had many difficulties and challenges while working on the subtitling video. The writer required to learn about how to translating the right script from the origin language to target language. Besides difficulty in creating the subtitling video, the writer gaining some advantages like elevating the listening, writing, translate the sentences and words. In addition, the writer can apply editing skill to add the subtitle. Furthermore, the writer asked the supervisor to revise all the script. The product of subtitled video burnt into a CD-RW. Hopefully, this final project can be beneficial for students of plantation corps production who watch the video in order to comprehend the whole content clearly
