Abstract :
One of the benchmarks in the growth and development of children is the level of consumption of nutrients supplied by parents. If parents do not provide adequate nutrition, there will be a health disorder known as malnutrition. Poor nutrition is influenced by several factors, namely low nutritional intake in pregnant and lactating women, income, education, cultural differences between villages and cities, parenting , and local policies. The selection of the title "The Relationship of Factors Affecting Inadequate Food Intake in Under-Nutrition Toddlers in Panti District, Jember District" is based on a preliminary study conducted by researchers who found a high number of under-nutrition cases in under-aged Panti District Jember based on interviews with Panti District Health Nutrition Experts. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of factors that influence the inadequacy of food intake in malnourished children under five in Panti District, Jember Regency which included: parental education, parental knowledge about nutrition in infants, the number of family members living in one house, and history infectious diseases, this type of research is analytic research that is observational. Meanwhile, according to the time of its implementation, this study included a cross sectional study which means analyzing the relationship by observing the subjects studied. The method used namely, observation and direct interviews using questionnaires and questionnaires, with a sample of 28 toddlers. While the sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling.
