Abstract :
Stunting is a developmental disorder experienced by children due to poor nutrition, repeated infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas, the prevalence of stunting in children under five in Jember Regency was ranked 8th in East Java Province. In 2017, the prevalence of stunting in children under five in Jember Regency was 17.73%. in 2018 it fell to 10.70%. It increased at 11.67% in 2019 and continued to increase to 13.73% in 2020. Efforts to reduce stunting prevalence are needed. Geographic information systems can be utilized as an effort to reduce stunting prevalence as a consideration for decision making through a regional perspective and as a medium for sharing information about stunting. This mapping system uses the Inkscape application to digitize the map. This study aims to design and build a geographic information system for the distribution of stunting in Jember Regency. This research was conducted at the Jember District Health Office. The system development method used in this research is the prototype method. The result of this study is a geographic information system that can display a map equipped with color gradations as an indicator of the high and low prevalence of stunting in children under five in Jember Regency and information on stunting. This geographic information system is expected to be used by the Jember Health Office in an effort to reduce the prevalence of stunting in children under five in Jember Regency.
