Abstract :
Tuberculosis is a disease that still be a major problem in world health. The incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jember Kidul Health Center itself in the last four years is fluctuating but tends to increase in 2018 and early 2019. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of individual characteristic that associated with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in productive age groups in Jember Puskesmas Kidul based on patient medical record data. The variables studied were independent variables that included gender, nutritional status, smoking habits, employment and education, and the dependent variable was the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. This research is an analytic research. The results showed that there was a relationship between sex with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with a p value of 0,010, there was a relationship between nutritional status with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with a p value of 0.019, there was a relationship between smoking habits with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with a p value value is 0.018, there was no relationship between work with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with a p value of 0.922, there was a relationship between education with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with a p value of 0.031. It is recommended that efforts be made to increase socialization or outreach activities for Health Center to increase community knowledge related to pulmonary tuberculosis due to the large number of people with low education.
