Abstract :
All living things in the world definitely need water to live both animals, plants and humans, it can be imagined that if we lived without water, we can be sure that it would be difficult to survive, so it can be said that water is one source of life. One of the multi-functional water structures is the Dam. Lau Simeme Dam has many functions, namely providing raw water of 3000 liters / second, as a hydropower plant that produces 2.8 MW, aquaculture where its main function is as flood control of Medan City. To begin the construction to build the dam is preparation work that must be done and build diversion tunnel first. Diversion tunnel functions to divert, accommodate the flow, the river so that in the downstream of the dam functions as tourism, in this thesis discussed about the analysis of the failure of the work of the diversion tunnel with 2, 3, and 4 years with a probability of 10%, 15% and 20%. With the results of the analysis, it is necessary to raise the cofferdam from planning with an elevation of +203 m elevated to an elevation of +212,35 m.
