Abstract :
This study aims to examine and determine the effectiveness of traditional games as a
solution to improve the social skills of elementary school students in the subject of Social
Sciences (IPS). The development of technology in today's modern era certainly has an effect
on student games, which have evolved from traditional games to modern games. The
existence of this modern game results in students spending more time with gadgets and
students becoming less social with their peers. This, of course, has an impact on the social
skills of students who become less developed. The objectives of this study are: (1) knowing
the steps in the use of traditional games; and (2) making students' social skills effective
through traditional games. Traditional games are an innovative model in learning and
have become a solution to problems in students' social skills in social studies learning.
Traditional games make students learn to interact with their peers and the people around
them. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This research
was conducted by collecting data from several journals related to the research variables
needed. Based on the results of the analysis of 13 journals used in the study, traditional
games showed the lowest percentage of 58.3% and the highest percentage of 88%. This
shows that traditional games can improve the social skills of elementary school students.
