Abstract :
This term paper describes the theme of literary of short story using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. By intrinsic approach applied with Family Institution (Function Family Institution) : Reproduction Junction, socialization function, affectional function and ecomomic function. This term paper is a kind of qualitative research with the literature study in interpretative characteristic combined with the data collecting method in a form of literary text from a short story titled, Up All Night by Heather Falkner as a primary source and is supported by some literatures related to the theories, concept and definition as a secondary source.
